What is the roaster?

There are several pans, pots and kitchen apparatuses known as vegetable roasters. Given the diverse nature of most roasters, it is difficult to mention a general description. They come in different shapes and sizes, a number of materials (metals, clay and ceramics) and at different costs. Many of them are safe pans in the oven with a lid on which they have a stand where vegetables can sit during the roasting process. Do you actually need a vegetable roaster if you already have a few baked pans? This is questionable.
