What is caffeine rubber?

As its name suggests, the caffeine rubber chews the rubber to which the caffeine has been added to create a slight stimulation effect in the consumer. Caffeined rubber defense counsels say it follows faster than other common sources of caffeine and that it has less negative side effects than most alternative caffeine sources. Others argue that many caffeine gums contain unhealthy or artificial ingredients and that, as with any sources of caffeine, excessive use of rubber may lead to side side effects.

Caffeine rubber is available in countries such as the United States and Japan since the end of the 20th century. In the US, the product was drawn to the public partly by research by the army at the beginning of 2000. Military studies concluded that the rubber containing caffeine could provide a more efficient source of energy for depressing sleep than such products such as coffee or energy drinks.

and typical piece of caffeine rubber contains between 40 and 100 milligramscaffeine. For comparison, a small cup of coffee contains about 75 to 100 milligrams of caffeine. However, the main difference between rubber and caffeine drinks is their absorption route. Caffeine found in drinks is generally absorbed by intestines and stomach, which is a process that can take up to an hour. On the contrary, caffeine found in the rubber is absorbed by oral tissue, so it begins to enter the bloodstream and increases energy in just five minutes.

According to caffeine rubber promoters, along with rapid absorption, the product can also cause less negative side effects than other common caffeine sources. For example, it generally does not combine teeth, as coffee can. Because it is not a liquid, it does not create an increased need to urinate. It also contains less than calories some of the caffeine sources.

Some critics claim that many caffeine gums contain unhealthy artificial ingredients and sugar, which can lead to dental caries. In addition, these critics saythat, as with any caffeine product, excessive rubber consumption may lead to caffeine overdose, which in turn causes unpleasant symptoms such as headaches, heart palpitations, agitation, insomnia and nausea. The possibility of overdose is particularly concerned about some parents and carers, as chewing gum has a wide attraction for children, many of which may not yet understand the risks of using caffeine.
