What Is a Subcutaneous Nerve?

The subcutaneous fascia is a structure that is located under the dermis, covering all parts of the body, and composed of loose connective tissue. Superficial arteries, subcutaneous veins, cutaneous nerves, and lymphatic vessels run in the superficial fascia, and some areas may also have breast and skin muscles. The superficial fascia has a certain protective effect on the muscles, blood vessels and nerves located deep in it. For example, the superficial fascia of the palms and soles of the feet are more developed and can cushion the compression. [1]
