What are Canids?

Canids are the family fine carnivora and class mammalia. The official name of the family is Canidae. It includes dogs, foxes, wolves, dingoes, jackals, coyotes and African wild dogs. Canids are characterized by high intelligence, exclusive carnivory, complex social structures, relatively long legs and liter bodies adapted to pursuit of prey, bushy tail, claws, sharp teeth, classic skulls and elongated snout with sensitive smell. Canids can be divided into two tribes, canini (dogs and relatives) and vulpini (foxes). Rather than being an assault of predators, a common predatory mode, Canids Cursorial Predators are watching their prey in long open chases. Due to excellent vision and smell, Canids can detect prey to a mile far or more. Their bodies give them endurance to travel long distances. When Canids are approaching on their prey, they kill it with their high -performance bite. One canid, an African wild dog, has quotient bites (the ratio of the bite witha pitch to body weight), which is the highest among all existing carnivores.

Canids are found on all continents with the exception of Antarctica, so their home is in many habitats, including grasslands, deserts, mountains and forests. They eat different animals for food, mostly small mammals such as rabbits. Canids can overthrowing in cooperative packages except the largest animals, including cattle, buffalo and Warthhog. Some Canids, such as wolves, historically even hunted people, especially young, weak or lonely. Today, wolf attacks are very rare, wolves with susceptibility to attack on people who were probably chosen, except for exhausted populations for competition with people and domestic dogs.

The biggest canids, such as The Dire Wolf, are now an extension. The Dire Wolf was 6 feet (1.8 m), weighing up to 200 pounds. That's bigger than most people. Dire wolf is considered a typical member of PLeistone's megafauna, large animals that have been extinct in the recent evolutionary past, probably because of human interference and defense. Numerous bones in the wolf are located in Lahrech La Brea in the center of Los Angeles.

Of course, the most famous of Canids is a home dog, a domesticated version of the gray wolf. Dogs have been a "best friend of man" for 12,000 years, they have been watching us all over the world and helping. It is now estimated that there are 400 million dogs around the world.
