What are trigonotarbids?

trigonotarbides are the extinct order of Arachnids, which are among the most famous known land. They appeared during the late Silurian, about 410 million years ago, and died out in early Permia, about 300 million years ago. Trigonotarbides prospered during the Devonian and carbon periods, when the Earth switched to completely infertile to the covered dense forests and swamps. About 380 million years ago, real spiders developed with which they lived alongside until they got for unknown reasons. Trigonotarbides are not ancestors of spiders, but in fact a separate offshoot of arachnid.

trigonotarbid, apparently resemble spiders to which they are closely relatives, even if they are not the same. Trigonotarbides are more primitive all around. Instead of having a thin waist, like all real spiders, the head and body of these animals were connected to a large box structure. Unlike spiders who have a smooth body, trigonotarbids had a segmented body, a reminiscent of lobster. They had side and ventral de on their bodySky for armor as their closest living relatives, hood. Like most spiders, they were small, between 0.5 and a few centimeters in length, they had eight legs and were predators.

Central Tubercule had two large lenses, while the side tuberculas had three large lenses and ten small.This adds a total of 28 eyes.

Paleontologists know a lot about trigonotarbides because they were found in some of the best preserved fossils in the world, Rhynie Chert, which was formed when the volcanic materials quickly flooded a small ecosystem and fossilized everything in place. The resulting preservation is so perfect that the smallest features are visible, including a well -preserved mouth, setea (hairs), small eyes and microscopic standards on the body of an animal that are a group diagnostics in general. Trigonotarbides were found in the tree structure that they probably used as places that are hiding while waiting to browse the prey.

trigonotarbides are one of the few groups of arthropods that completely disappeared. Other extinct groups of arthropods include trilobits and eurypterides (Sea Scorpions).
