What is a Bloom box?
Bloom Box is an alternative energy source capable of producing electricity without wiring into the electric grid. The real box is something like a mini power plant and small fuel cells are placed on top of each other. These fuel cells act as batteries and produce clean energy from the combination of fuel and oxygen. It is an adaptation of fuel cell technology with oxide oxide oxide that creates electricity by oxidation.
Bloom Box invented Dr. K.R. SRIDHAR, co -founder and CEO of Bloom Energy. Before inventing the Bloom Box, Sridhar was a NASA advisor; He also worked at the University of Arizona as the director of the Space Technologies Laboratory (STL) laboratory. The name for Sridhar's invention came from his nine -year -old son, who thought the name would be suitable for the invention that imagined that the lives and jobs of flowering would help. The disk is made of ordinary beach sand, baked segmented into squares. Using the dyes that Sridhar created is a fuel cellOn one side painted black and on the other side green. Oxygen is pumped on one side of the disk and fuel on the other. The combination of oxygen and fuel creates a chemical reaction that produces electricity.
One of these fuel cells is said to supply a bulb. 64 of them, stacked together in the box, small enough to hold in one hand, it is said that they are driving a small business or home. Cells are not chosen about what fuel they consume. According to Dr. Sridhara is able to produce electricity by means of everything from fossil fuels to renewable energy such as biofuels and solar energy.
In order to find out whether the claims are true of his invention, several companies have applied to test the Bloom box. Among those who installed on SEL were companies such as Google, FedEx, Wal-Mart and Ebaymísta ECT. Results found that more boxes were able to power significant PRocento large business campuses. John Donahoe, CEO of Ebay, said the boxes generated 15 percent of the campus energy and produced more electricity faster than the solar panels that installed on the roof.
TheBloom Box was largely funded by John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins, a risky capital in Silicon Valley, California, which also helped to finance Google as a beginning company. Doerr and Dr. SRIDHAR said that the intention of the box is to replace the electric grid and give the world a cheaper, cleaner and more accessible form of energy.
