What are thought processes?

thinking processes are a number of techniques mapping the causes and consequences designed to help managers and employees through the steps necessary to achieve the goal. They are part of the wider philosophy of business management known as Goldratt's theory of restrictions. In order to decide what to change, entrepreneurs create a contemporary tree of reality. The techniques of cloud evaporation and future reality are used to decide what to change, while the concept of negative branches helps entrepreneurs recognize unintended negative side effects of change. Finally, the anticipated tree and the transition tree are used to display changes step by step that must be made to achieve the target.

If the company finds that it does not meet all its goals, managers try to decide what they can change to overcome the problem. The current tree of reality is a graph composed of boxes and arrows that show how one part of the system affects another. Used to identify CogoldrattIt feels effects (UDE), parts of the system that do not work. Once these are identified, managers can find root limits or the basic problem that causes these.

The next step in thought processes involves identifying the basic assumptions and conflicts that cause UDE. This is done by means of evaporating cloud technology, a graph that begins with the goal and maps the requirements and prerequisites necessary to achieve this goal. Then the future reality tree will be used to map, how to change one element. This can result in a negative branch. If the negative branches can be overcome, managers have found what will change. If not, they must look for a different solution.

The last two processes of thinking are used to show employees on how to make a change. The prerequisite tree maps actions that must be the clear and obstacles that will result from these actions. It is basically ŘADA objectives and problems arising from meeting each of them. The transition tree shows an explanation of each action step by step and explains why it is necessary.

Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldatt first introduced the processes of thinking in his book The Goal , published in 1984. They were part of his theory of restrictions. This theory assumes that any system is limited by a small number of restrictions that will prevent it from achieving its goals. If these restrictions are correctly identified by means of thinking processes, they can be overcome and the system goals can be met.
