What is educational research?

Educational research is the study of behavior patterns related to learning in schools and other educational programs. For this type of research, data is usually collected by examining products of existing educational practices using tests and other documentation. It is also possible to conduct educational research through social sciences associated with anthropology and sociology. The aim of educational research is to study how education procedures affect students, usually with the idea that understanding the connection between education and learning can help students learn. Given that youth education is almost always important for the successful continuation of society, it is an area in which many different institutions have significant interest.
