- Military treaties have a major impact on international relations and the world situation. The nature and role depend on the political system, strategic objectives, and the nature of foreign and military policies of the State party. History shows that some military treaties are aimed at establishing military blocs, aggressing for world hegemony, aggravating international tensions, and endangering world peace. Some military treaties were signed in order to oppose aggression and provide justified military support to the aggressed party, and therefore play an important role in curbing war and opposing aggression.
