Superventricular tachycardia is another rare disease that affects the heart. Common symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain and loss of consciousness.

Brugada syndrome is one of the most life -threatening rare heart diseaseand. This disorder causes an irregular heart rhythm that can prevent the body from effectively pumping blood throughout the body. A patient with this heart disease may have frequent fainting spells or a sudden infarction may occur, often leading to death. Electrical equipment can be implanted in an effort to regulate heart rate and prevent sudden death often associated with this condition.

Familial expansion cardiomyopathy is among the inherited rare heart disease and causes the left ventricle to increase and weaken. This prevents the heart from drawing properly into the rest of the body, which potentially causes heart failure and damage to various other organs of the body. In most cases, familial dilated cardiomyopathy is considered to be autosomal, which means that only one parent must inherit the abnormal gene. Ellis-Van Creveld Syndrome is a type of rare genetic heart disease that most often affects the population of Amish. Physical abnormalities, such as the type of dwarf and various skeletal malformations, are common between these diseases. A defect between the two upper chambers of the heart can lead to symptoms such as shortness of breath, irregular or inconsistent heart rhythms or frequent respiratory infections. There may be serious heart damage, often fatal. Treatment is aimed at controlling individual symptoms and prescription drugs or surgical intervention may be listed in some situations.
