What is resuscitate (DNR)?
and Neresuscitate (DNR) is a type of preliminary guideline that suggests that patients should not be offered CPR or other measures to save life in the case of cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies. Usually DNR is required or for a patient who is terminally ill to prevent potentially painful and invasive procedures. Very older patients or patients under other circumstances may also apply for DNR. While most people associate DNR with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), other measures for rescue life sites, including administration of IV drugs, intubation to ensure respiratory tract and use of a defibrillator paddle, can also be used in a hospital environment. Some of these measures are traumatic and invasive and may not always be effective if the patient is seriously ill. However, hospital staff and nurses will still work to make a patient mOHL conveniently administer oxygen, patient movement and hydration with intravenous liquids. The intention of DNR is not to kill the patient, but to keep it comfortable when death approaches.
Ideally, the patient should apply for DNR with his doctor and set what is called "specific to DNR". This type of DNR is much more extensive, indicating specific desires under certain conditions. For example, the patient may apply for DNR if he ends up in a coma, but not if he experiences a heart attack while waking up. By being specific in the advanced directive, the patient may be sure that his wishes are observed in the case of a large medical disaster.
In the patient, doctors cannot do and the advanced directive has not been dictated, someone else must be responsible for responsibility, such as a close relative or somehow in which the parent has invested a power of attorney. People who are included in this position should carefully think about wishes patientand, especially if it experiences multiple organ failure or brain death. It may be useful to remember before patients with brain dead can potentially donate their organs to save lives, even if they can no longer enjoy life.
