What is human development?

Human development concerns the overall growth and changes that occur during human life from conception. Developmental psychologists study physical, mental or cognitive and social changes that occur and why or why not and how these changes are going on. Studies of human development and development theories provide psychologists a way to explore social and cultural standards and deviants in every developmental phase.

Development phases are divided into categories based on age and development level. The life phase of human development is prenatal development and birth, infants and toddlers, years of games, school years, adolescence, early maturity, middle maturity and late maturity. During each stage of development people experience physical, cognitive and social changes. Many people go through every phase within what is considered a normal time frame, although some people have more difficulty moving to another stage or stuck at a certain developmental level in one or more areas. Disorders occur if there is aSignificant deviation from general developmental theory or phase of development. Among the developmental theories, the cognitive development of the dominant is used by psychologists. Cognitive theory of human development focuses on patterns of thinking that affects human belief, human behavior and attitude at every developmental level.

Most developmental psychologists include various aspects of psychoanalytic theory, behavioralism, socio -cultural theory and epigenetic theories in their approach to different stages of human development. Psychoanalytic theory of development claims that unconscious inner thoughts and Urge affect all thinking and behavior at every stage. Behaviorism, also known as learning theory, focuses on how people learn and change specific behavior. The socio -cultural theory suggests that all human development results from interactions between person and society. In this theory, society and culture play a major role in development at every stage.
