What Is the Renin-Aldosterone Ratio?
Aldosterone is a steroid hormone (mineral corticosteroid family) that enhances the kidney's reabsorption of ions and water molecules. It mainly acts on the kidneys to reabsorb sodium ions and water molecules.
- Aldosterone, C21H28O5. 11, 21-dihydroxy-3.20-dioxo-4-pregnene-18-aldehyde (11 18) lactaldehyde (I). Yes
Hyperaldosteronism
- Primary aldosteronism (orthoaldosteronism) is caused by an increase in aldosterone secretion due to a tumor or hyperplasia of the adrenal cortex. Protoaldehyde is a secondary hypertension that accounts for about 0.4 to 2% of hypertension. The peak age of onset is 30-50 years, and women are more common than men. The most common cause of this disease is aldosterone tumors, which account for about 60% to 80% of the original aldosis. Most are single adenomas, which are more common on the left.
Aldosterone spironolactone
- Its receptor antagonist is spironolactone, also known as spironolactone, which competes with aldosterone to bind to the corresponding receptors in the human body. It is a potassium-sparing diuretic and the hypotensive effect of spironolactone also originates from this.
