What are different types of process management technology?

Process control is widely used in factories and other automated environments to make systems function efficiently. In general, process control technology is designed to monitor sensors and adjust important variables according to values. This technology allows complex operations to be managed by a relatively small group of people and helps ensure that the desired result is consistently achieved. There are four main types of process management technology, each with different abilities.

The control process of one loop is a relatively simple form of automation. This approach uses basic regulators to activate or deactivate processes in a very linear and predictable way. Simple electronic relays are one examples of components that are commonly found in one loop system. This process control type is often used to move the part by sequential phases of the assembly line from start to finish, with very little variations in the "loop" cycle. A programmable logical controller (PLC) is often used for this type of inspection. distributed control systems (DCS) are able to monitor and manage very complicated processes. While the sequential controller is usually able to modify an automated sequence in only one place, DCS can control many different variations or "branches" of the process. DCS allows you to automatically set a wide range of variables, which usually improves the quality of the production system.

Supervisory control and data collection systems consist of the most complex process management technology. The SCADA system is usually used in large factories and is often monitored and modified from the Central Center with the crew. In addition to the standard DCS SCADA functions, the SCADA also allows you to program operations in the plan. SCADA technology is designed to monitor a wide range of sensors and adjust many different aspects of the automated process.
