What Is Ammonium Acetate?

Ammonium acetate, a simple structure of CH 3 COONH 4 , also known as ammonium acetate. It is a white triangular crystal with acetic acid odor. It can be used as analytical reagent and meat preservative. The pH of this solution was around 7, and was neutral. It is water-absorptive and deliquescent. Therefore, ammonium acetate needs to be stored in a dry state. [1]

Chinese name: Ammonium acetate, also known as
Density: 1.17
Melting point (° C): 112
Boiling point (° C): easy to decompose, unknown
pH: Since the degree of hydrolysis of acetate and ammonium ions is not much different, the pH of the solution is about 7, which is neutral.
Properties: White triangular crystal with acetic acid odor.
Solution: soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble
Used as analytical reagents, meat preservatives, and also for pharmaceuticals. Also acts as a buffer and provides acetate ligands.
The use of industrial ammonium acetate should control the content of chlorides and heavy metals in it.
Used to prepare buffer solution for determination
Derived from the direct reaction of glacial acetic acid and ammonia. The reaction equation is as follows:
CH 3 COOH + NH 3 = CH 3 COONH 4
The process flow diagram is as follows:
Stimulate the skin, mucous membranes, eyes, nasal cavity, throat, and damage eyes; high concentrations of irritated lungs can cause hydronephrosis.
