What are co-affected anonymous?
Co-affected Anonymous is a self-helping support group for individuals who want to be in healthy relationships. Using the "12 steps" system, the co-affected Anonymous offers confidential and free assistance in the supportive atmosphere. Live meetings are held around the world and some groups also meet online. The organization does not provide psychotherapy, but encourages its members to "work" on 12 steps of recovery from the fellowship of dependent behavior. People interested in joining the organization are called to find a local meeting and take part six times before they decide whether the group is useful. Although the features of a co-incident relationship were first identified by people who observed marriage and partnerships in which one partner is an addictive substance, continuous dynamics exists in relationships where neither the partner uses drugs or alcohol. Instead, one partner puts a high priority to maintain a relationship and involve self -sacrifice to the extent that they will hurt to please or USPeace of the second partner. In relationships that include abuse of addictive substances, co-speeds could be reflected in one partner "covering" the irresponsible behavior of an addict. In other relationships, the co -dependent partner may take over the primary responsibility for maintenance of contact with the needs of the second partner.
realized that the co-speed is unhealthy behavior, co-affected Anonymous founded another co-affected as a self-help alternative to continuing to unhealthy relationships. The organization uses the recovery model set in "12 steps" and "12 traditions", which was first founded by alcoholics Anonymous. Like the alcoholics, Anonymous, co-affected anonymous, they act as a community in which Members can share their experience and offer support for each other when they try to recover from the disease of the co-impairment. Most of the work of co-involved anonymous take place in the form of structured withtissues and responsible relationships between members and their "sponsors" -sters who have been in the program for a long time and who can provide one-on-one support.
12-step philosophy of recovery is a spiritually based process in which co-dependent acknowledges that it has no control over the behavior of others and is looking for the help of "force majeure" that could help man to normalize his thinking and behavior. During the 12-steps processing process, the co-judgment of an anonymous member strives for a better understanding of himself or his behavior. The person will also turn to those who he or she hurt, and eventually try to help other co -chairmen in their recovery.
