Compared to conventional operations of coronary arteries, which can also be referred to as CABG, have minimally invasive cardiac surgery techniques that are currently used, benefits that use smaller cuts that are faster to heal and cause less scarring and there is a reduced risk of infections. Less blood is also lost, pain is minimized and patients recover faster and can leave the hospital before. The survival rate after surgery seems to be similar to the rates of people who have had conventional heart surgery, although further research is needed before assessing a complete image. As the use of robotic aid grows, this could help improve accuracy.
