- Remineralization therapy is one of the common methods for treating dental caries. It refers to the use of artificial methods to remineralize demineralized enamel or cementum, restore its hardness, and terminate or eliminate early caries.
- (1) Early enamel caries (chalk spots or brown spots) on smooth surfaces.
- (2) Those who are susceptible to caries can be used for prevention.
- It mainly contains different proportions of calcium, phosphorus and fluorine. Adding fluorine can obviously promote enamel remineralization. The pH of the remineralizing solution is generally adjusted to 7. The acidic environment can reduce the remineralization of the mineralizing fluid.
- (1) Formulated into mouthwash, gargle daily. (2) Local application: clean and dry the tooth surface, place the cotton ball soaked with mineralization solution on the affected area, and leave it for several minutes each time, repeat 3 to 4 times.
