What are the different types of preservatives?

There are a number of preservatives of food used by chefs and food manufacturers to prolong durability and improve the storage of cooked and raw foods. Many nature preservatives such as salt and sugar are often used to preserve canned fruit, processed meat and various types of canned or appalling vegetables. Nitrates and nitrites are common artificial preservatives found in many processed masses, including lunch and bacon, and are made of naturally occurring sodium chloride found in table salt. Antioxidants also play a role while maintaining fresh and processed foods, as well as their own home preservation methods such as freezing, pickling or appalling food. One of the most common preservatives is salt, suitable for many uses such as preserving meat, canned vegetables and fruits, as well as frozen dessert vegetables. Salt is one of the most popular preservatives used at home to protectraw meat, because salt helps to draw moisture from the meat through a process called osmosis.
