What is Turkish pistachios?

Turkish pistachios are a number of pistachio nuts, coming from turkey and cultivated there and in other areas of the world. Turkey is the main producer of pistachia and, after Iran and the United States, is placed third in worldwide production. Turkish pistachios are similar to Iranian or Persian pistachio, which is considered the best of all varieties of pistachios. Like Iranian pistachios, the Turkish pistachio nut is slightly smaller than other varieties, but has an excellent taste. These pistachios are also known as antep pistachios, after the Turkish name for pistachios that are reflected in English as an "antip matrix".

Most pistachio grown for human consumption is the type of pistachia vera . Although there are other species in the pistachios, they are not common pistachio walnut, although some are similar and eat people and livestock. These other species are often used as a rootstock for growing pistachuios, on which the pistachio slices are grafted. Especially two other types, pistachia Atlantica and Terebinthus pistachios for this purpose. This creates a tree with superior properties of rootstocks and more desirable characteristics of the crops of Turkish pistachios.

Since it is originally for regions that have some of the oldest and longest history of agriculture, Turkish pistachios have been grown for thousands of years. While other types of pistachios are used for rootstocks, there are also different pistachios cultivars. These are all members of the same kind, but are slightly different. Pistachios grown in the United States produce slightly larger nuts. The Turkish pistachios also open a little harder than other varieties, because the shell that is slimmer and extended and very hard does not open like a flush like other types when dried and baked.

The taste of Turkish pistachio is widely considered better than other varieties, except perhaps Iranian pistachios and are significantlyMore expensive than larger varieties grown in the United States. It is the sweetest and most daring flavored of all pistachio varieties, which is a characteristic that is improved by roasting. As a result, Turkish pistachios are particularly suitable for all kinds of culinary uses, especially desserts and pistachio butter, a product similar to peanut butter. Like all pistachios, Turkish pistachio is considered to be very healthy food, without cholesterol, high protein content and without saturated fats.
