What is Cocos?

Cocos is a plant genus with only one kind: cocos nucifera or coconut palm. Cocos Nucifera is a large tree that grows up to 100 feet (30 meters) and is native in the tropical coastal regions of the world. It is also grown in areas that are warm, sunny and humid enough, such as California and Florida in the United States, and currently growing in more than 80 countries. Coconut palm has many uses, with almost every part of the plant to give people some benefits. For example, different parts of the plant can be used in landscape, kitchen, horticulture, medicine and clothing, tools, shelter and musical instruments. The fruit of coconut is drupe or fruit. Unlike many Drupes, however, the furthest layers of the Cocant fruit are hard and not edible. Rather, the edible part of the coconut fruit, called the meat, holds the interior of the seed shell or pit.

The two outer layers of coconut are together called the peel. The farthest layer is usually paragraphwounded from commercially sold coconut nuts, although part of it can be left on young coconuts. Shell fruit is fibrous and fibers, called Cair, are used in some cultures to produce ropes, mats, mattresses, fishing nets and similar objects.

The outer part of the coconut fruit has three soft spots or eyes through which the seeds emerge the root. The fruit is full of liquid called coconut water that you can enjoy as a drink. It is best when it is taken from young coconuts because coconut water in older sheeps dries and becomes bitter. Mature fruits, however, produce better meat. It is made by coconut milk -dipping of coconut meat.

other edible parts of cocos nucifera include the heart of palm trees and buds of flowers. Bowl and nectar flowers can also be used as a drink. Coconut oil, from meat, is used in cooking and soap production. Shell koThe scythe can be used to make bowls, musical instruments and small ornaments such as buttons. The leaves are used to make brooms, woven mats and baskets and roof documents.
