What is a happy hour?
One of the biggest challenges facing drinking is to attract customers, especially during the less popular late afternoon and early evening hours. Some customers can stop for several drinks after working before returning home, but many bars remain relatively empty up to at least 8 or 9 hours. To attract more customers during slower times, many bars offer discounted drinks and other special gifts over the time period known as Happy Hour .
Some of the events of Happy Hour can only last in a real 60 minutes, but many start at 4 or 17:00 and can take regular crowds to arrive at 8 or 21:00. During a happy hour, the equipment owners can offer customers free or reduced appetizers to accompany their discounted drinks. It would not be unusual to see how a small line appeared in the form of a buffet with different snacks during a happy hour. Food is sometimes offered free of charge as a leader of losses for more expensive drinks.
during a happy hourCustomers can also benefit from special promotions such as Penny Beer Night or Themed Party. The selected mixed drink or cocktail can be offered with a considerable discount during a happy hour. The purpose of marking a happy clock is to attract professionals and move workers looking for a place to relax after work. Happy Hour would make the Bar and Patrons owner happy, because business would increase during the traditionally slow period of time and discounted or free food offered with drinks provides food for customers.
No one is quite sure when or where the first official happy hour occurred. The earliest use in the press is said to be an article from 1961 describing policies who may have to give up their usual "happy clock" to vote. This seems to suggest that this term was in popular use in the 1960s. Theater groups in Victorian England often used this phrase "happy clock" as a rhyme in the style of Cockney PRThe "flowers", but the origin of the "happy hours" in this sense is not clear.
