What is Stromboli?
While there are many different types of meat turnover around the world, none of them are quite like Stromboli, somewhat similar to submarine sandwich and close to Calzon. This hot, roast and tasty offer, copied by commercial variants such as Hot Pockets®, may have first appeared on the east coast. Most people attribute Romano, the owner of the Italian restaurant and Romano pizzeria in Philadelphia, with its invention. Several of them say Mike Aquino invented food on the west coast. The first statement is more trustworthy, and most people remembered the arrival of Stromboli in Roman in the early 1950s. The film was made in 1950, and the sandwich/pastry with the same name is said to have appeared at about the same time as the Thvydani movie E. Most Italian immigrants would certainly see the film with pleasure because it was released in Italian first.
no matterToday you can find Stromboli in various incarnations in various stores across the US. It is basically a combination of Italian meat and cheeses, wrapped in bread or pizza and then baked, so the interior is hot. Instead of being typical of Calzone, it resembles a slightly rounded elongated or completely closed in Burrit. The dough bakes around the meat that forms bread to create what many consider to be a superlative submarine sandwich.
Stromboli can be served with a marinar sauce on the side for immersion and tends to differ sufficiently from Calzone to deserve a different designation. Most Calzon, although they may include Italian meat like Salami, Pepperoni or prosciutto, have a much higher cheese content. The cheese added to the kalhon is usually torn and when it is half -cut, the cheese should literally pour out from the interior. Some calzons also include a marinar sauce in their interior, although not always the case.
instead of using grated cheese uses traditional STRomboli sliced cheese and tends to include a little more Italian meat. It resembles a submarine sandwich before Calzone does. Just as tempting as this tasty meal, be careful when you bite it for the first time. The filling is usually extremely hot and can easily burn your tongue, causing your pleasure in the rest of the food less pleasant.
