What is Shake Weight®?
Shake Weight® is a device used for exercising arms and shoulders. The facility became popular through an advertising campaign on television and has become one of the better selling pieces of exercise equipment sold through such an advertising campaign, despite extensive mockery of advertising and mixed reviews of the equipment. Shake Weight® is a pocket weight and the movement of the arms causes it to move continuously and provides resistance in two directions during training. Advertisers claim that weapons can be carved and toned with just a few minutes of exercise a day. The device is designed to work with biceps and shoulders by continuous muscle involvement in these areas of the body. While users often report the feeling of getting worn and feel fatigue because of exercise, some experts say that the device does little or nothing to ton the arms and burn fat, as the device advertises.
Others say Shake Weight® is simply one exercise that should be included in other types of exercises designed to strengthen and ton the arms and shoulders. Supporters claim that the device helps to develop muscle fibers in the arms and shoulders, which may or may not be true. Combination of exercises with other exercises can bring results, but exercise in itself can or may not be effective at all. Experts say the use of dumbbells and other fitness equipment is much more efficient than Shake Weight® and any strength training exercise must be combined with other types of exercise if one wants to burn fat and build the strength as the device claims.
Shake Weight® has become more popular for its advertising campaign than for any real benefits that can be mined from the device. Ads mostly women have parodied on the Internet and on television for suggestive movement of the device and perceived absurdity of exercise. However, the advertising campaign was effective and the device was met with a significant Úrush. Relatively cheap devices can be found in stores as a result of selling success. The advertising campaign often focuses on the ease with which the device can be used and focuses on the desires of many people to avoid fitness centers and instead work at home.
