What is EMP?
electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is a fast, powerful explosion of electromagnetic energy that moves in a significant part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The most commonly cited source of EMP is a nuclear weapon. The easiest way to generate EMP energy is in fact a sudden chemical or nuclear explosion and a device for creating EMP in the absence of such an explosion is known to be relatively weak. Electromagnetic impulses from real life released by nuclear tests with high height joined the power wires, caused burglary alarms and caused breaking of radio, televisions and electric lines up to 1,500 kilometers (930 million). The source of this disturbance is an extensive, intensively fluctuating magnetic field created when high -energy photons from the electrons of knocking explosions from their atomic orbit. This disruption becomes the captured jokemmagnetic field of the Earth, leading to a coherent oscillating electric current.
In almost future sci-fi, EMP is perceived as a strong superweapon that deactivates all sophisticated electronics in the national or even continental area. Since EMP can spread to the horizon with sufficient energy, the nuclear weapon detonated in orbit in the nearby country could disrupt electronics in a huge area. On the other hand, a nuclear weapon detonated near Earth can cause small damage to the EMP, for example, aircraft that decreases atomic weapons, still work, even if they are within a nuclear explosion line.
In order to release EMP capable of damaging a wide area, a nuclear weapon that triggers must be relatively large - in the range of 10 or more megatons, which is almost three orders stronger than Hiroshima and Nagasakijader bombs. To release the powerful EMP in the smaller area, an explosive pumped flow compression generator has been designed to use a high explosive to basically achieve the same effect. World Military Organization TestoThe mounds of prototypes such weapons, but were not widely deployed.
EMP is presented in fiction or peas as a weapon suitable for use against machines, cyborgs or nanobots, but unnecessary against biological creatures. In fact, machines can easily use the processing and control of elements based on mechanical and chemical principles than pure electrical, which makes them as immune as a human being to an electromagnetic pulse.
