What Is Nickel?
Nickel, a silvery white, hard, ductile, and ferromagnetic metal element, is highly polished and resistant to corrosion. Nickel is an iron-philic element. The highest nickel content in the earth's core is a natural nickel-iron alloy. In the crust, iron-magnesia rocks contain more nickel than silico-aluminous rocks. For example, peridotite contains 1,000 times as much nickel as granite, and gabbro has 80 times as much nickel as granite.
