What is a star prime?

Starfish Prime was a nuclear test at a high altitude on 9 July 1962, in Johnston Atoll in the Pacific, about 1400 km (870 miles) southwest of the Hawaiian Islands. Starfish Prime was kept as part of the Dominic operation. Atoll Johnston was chosen as a test point due to its relative isolation. At that time, the Paranoia was the Supreme Level of the Cold War, and the United States rushed rapidly to develop missiles capable of interfering with Russia from allied launch pads in the UK. Starfish Prime was just one of these tests. The play was exploded 400 km (250 miles) above the island, significantly above the international definition for the universe, which is only 100 km above the surface. The Electromagnetic Impulse of Starfish Prime eliminated numerous electronics in nearby Hawaii, caused alert alarms, smashed three hundred street lights, caused confusion with radio and television sets, and linked electric lines. The explosion created an artificial auror that persisted for seven minutes and could beNot to see it from itself, 3200 km (2000 mi) distant.

Due to the lack of air at altitude, where Starfish Prime took place, there was no resulting fire ball, even though there were many other malevolent effects, some planned, others not. Three weeks before the next test associated with Dominic, Bluegill Prime, the thor (I> felled and the test had to be interrupted and rains radioactive metal down to Johnston Atoll.

During this test, Starfish Prime was successful, but he released so much Energiepása into the Earth's Radie that fine electronics in seven satellites were destroyed, which at that time is 1/3 of all satellites in low orbit. There is no way of measuring radiation in the Earth's inner radiation belts, led to the start of finer measuring satellites. It is said that high -energy electrons from Starfish Prime persisted in the atmosphere for five years.
