What was Earth Like During the Paleocene Epoch?

The Paleozoic (65 million years ago to 53 million years ago), the first of five Paleocene Epoch tertiary ages, began about 65 million years ago and ended 53 million years ago. The strata formed by the Paleozoic are called Paleozoic, located above the Mesozoic and below the Eocene. In 1874, based on the plant fossils found in the Paris Basin, WP Champer thought that the layers containing these fossils were earlier than the Eocene, and proposed the Paleocene. This period lasted about 12 million years. The biggest feature is that the ancient or indigenous species in the fauna have a great advantage, which is obviously different from the subsequent fauna.

Paleozoic strata are divided from old to new in Europe
Ungulates appeared in the early Paleozoic
There are complete Late Cretaceous to Paleogene strata exposed in Gamba area, Tibet.
The Paleozoic is divided into three periods:
Thanetian (58.7 ± 0.2 55.8 ± 0.2 million years)
Selandian (61.7 ± 0.2 58.7 ± 0.2 million years)
Danian (65.5 ± 0.3 61.7 ± 0.2 million years)
Paleogene (symbol E), formerly known as Early Tertiary, is an era in the geological age, starting at an isotope age of 65.5 ± 0.3 million years (Ma) and ending at 23.03 ± 0.05Ma. "Ancient" is an ancient translation of paleo-, and "near" is a transliteration of -gene, taking into account the literal meaning. In Paleogene, plants and animals began to develop. Foraminifera is in the P1 ~ P22 band. The Paleogene belongs to the Cenozoic era of the Phanerozoic era, and also belongs to the informal third subgeneration. The Paleogene is the Cretaceous and the Neogene is the next. Paleogene includes Paleozoic, Eocene, and Oligocene.
