What is a touch tone?

Touch Tone is a type of telecommunication system that uses more frequency (DTMF) with a double tone to pass the message, usually a phone number, to the system. Each number is assigned a tone frequency and can therefore be used to hand over calls to a certain goal. Quickly replaced earlier forms of dialing as a more efficient way to call a call. In the end, he declared a touch tone as "the biggest thing from the bike". While advertising could have been a game on words, it had two meaning. Before the invention of the touch tone, the rotary wheel was the most common way of dialing the phone number. It is therefore the reason why touches of this call are called "dialing". The required number was indicated by the number of times the signal was interrupted. The technology, although reliable, was somewhat cumbersome and slow. Rotary phones were also often difficult and difficult to place in too many different places. However, it took several years to grab the general public because the existing telephone systems had to be upgraded to change. SinceIt remained the most common method of dialing.

technology has since appeared in a number of different applications. Touch Tone allows users to access computer systems with just touching the button. The standard also allowed integrated voice response systems, so it is possible for companies to communicate with clients and potential clients without having to go through the cost of employing an individual, at least during the initial stages of the call.

While the May is easy to overlook, touch phones have always been intended for this secondary use of communication with computers. Developers were looking for advice of many other companies to find out what was needed for this purpose. This has led to the development of star keys (*) and pounds (#). It should be noted that the original phones of the touch tone also had the keys for A, B, C and D, but they were later dropped. While these keys still serve some administrative functionI don't have most common phones.
