What is a loyalty card?

Loyalty card is a paper or plastic card, usually the same size as a typical credit or bank card that is provided to retail customers to provide them with benefits that are not offered to non -bargains. Advantages may include a percentage of purchase, refers to a gift certificate of trade or selling prices for specific items. Other common names for the card include club card card, point card, reward card or advantage. A large number of retailers also offer these cards in smaller key chain sizes for the comfort of their customers.

On supermarkets of chain and drug stores around the world, the card is usually used to monitor customer preferences and purchase habits in exchange for providing cash rewards to its customers. To obtain a card, the customer is usually obliged to fill in the form with their name, address and phone number. While some consumers can avoid the concept of loyalty card programs as too invasive into personal shopping habits, this practice remains popular worldwide. Other companies that introduced loyalty card programs include hardware shops, restaurants, hotel and motel chains. Loyalty programs have also recently gained popularity online. Groups of retailers offer rewards through one card that can be used in multiple online stores for discounts and other incentives.
