What is the structure of the product distribution?

Product distribution structure (PBS) is an element of project management that decomposes all components used in the product. This exhaustive diagram takes the main units of the product and describes in detail all parts within this unit. The product distribution structure is used for many project management tasks such as inventing costs or finding a way to change part of the product rather than the whole thing. Although it is mainly used for components, the product distribution structure can also be used to measure functional and conceptual parts of the product.

The product division structure creates a hierarchical chart of all parts of the product. For example, the division of the vehicle would have a number of main units such as doors, engine and transmission. Below the door, parts used in the door, such as locking mechanism, windows and handle controls. If one of these parts has several parts contained in it, such as electrical components of the Contols window, under the header of this part is added additional POan -group of parts.

While the structure of the product distribution is primarily used to highlight the product components, it also emphasizes other parts of the product. Especially for new products, functional or conceptual components will be highlighted unless they are understood by their notes. This is mostly used for reporting to managers or other people who do not participate in the creation of a product, so they understand everything about the product.

The structure of the product distribution is partially created to determine the cost of the product. Each item is preferred and costs are found, so project managers know how much money it is necessary to use to finance the project. This also tells suppliers and ordering managers what components are needed to complete the project.

Another reason for this structure is Makee to turn into a product without having to change the whole. This is used either for cost -effectivenessu, or to improve parts of the product. For example, if a piece of product is made of inferior material, the project manager can change this part of the product distribution structure to contain excellent material for better performance.

The structure of work decomposition (WBS) has a structure similar to the product distribution structure and includes all components in the product. However, WBS is exhausting. WBS will include training, data, services and everything else needed to work with the product.
