What is Disaster Recovery?

Disaster recovery (also referred to as disaster recovery ) refers to the process of re-enabling data, hardware and software equipment of information systems after natural or man-made disasters to resume normal business operations. Disaster recovery planning is part of a broader business continuity plan. At its core, it assesses and prevents catastrophic risks for an enterprise or organization, and in particular records, backs up, and protects critical business data and processes in a timely manner.
