What is the device manager doing?

Every commercial or institutional building has a primary function or activity. For example, the primary activity of the hospital is the treatment of medical patients. The primary function of cars for cars is the construction of cars and trucks. The person responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of these buildings is the device manager.

The facility administrator is in most organizations the position of employees. The task of the facility administrator is to support and improve the primary activities of the organization by providing optimal environment and support services for the inhabitants of the building or building complex. Successful device management integrates people, processes, buildings and technologies. The diverse and unique needs of each building require more professional competence in multiple fields. For example, hospital equipment manager may be responsible for things as diverse as the operation of the laundry and the disposal of hazardous materials, obtaining and installing a new heating system or air conditioning (HVAC) or closing the repairs of asphalt in the parking lot.

Supervision of safety and health protection is usually the responsibility of the device manager. These duties include fire safety, inspections of industrial emissions, alarm systems and the quality of internal air. The facility administrator is expected to have knowledge of local, regional and national security laws and regulations. Other equipment management duties may include management and maintenance, automation of buildings and building systems and moving or installing new equipment and furniture.

in global economy, standing standards and benchmarks for competencies and performance is essential. The International Association for Management (IFMA) has created Certified Facility Manager (CFM). The IFMA objectives are to ensure professional perfection, set standards for professional practice of facilities, support the value of professional equipment management and positively influence futureXI equipment management.

To qualify as CFM, the facility manager must meet the standard of educational successes and practical experience. It must also pass a competencies test to measure the person's ability against established equipment management standards. The exam measures competences in nine areas, including, but without restrictions on operation and maintenance, human and environmental factors, real estate management, project planning and management, staff management and communication.

The role of equipment managers is constantly evolving. It is also expected that many facilities will contribute to the strategic level by providing top management information on the best use of space and advice to upper managers to decide on space and support services. This strategic role underlines the growing influence and importance of efficient management in the global economy.
