What is career development?

Career development is an organized method of planning used to adapt to the needs of a business with career goals of employees. Formulating a career development plan can help employees more effectively perform work. For example, managers may be responsible for ensuring that business needs match the employee's career goals to achieve the overall balanced working atmosphere. They will often identify the skills, experience and knowledge that employees need to provide their best possible work.

The results are usually analyzed to determine things that can be adjusted in preparation for real conversations.
