How can I Prevent Foot Blisters?
It is a limitation caused by long-term local compression and friction of the foot skin, conical keratinocyte hyperplasia. Commonly known as "meat thorn". People who stand and walk for a long time are more likely to occur, and friction and compression are the main causes.
Basic Information

- dermatology
- Multiple groups
- Young people, seniors
- Common causes
- Friction and compression are the main causes of corns
- Common symptoms
- The bottom of the foot is light yellow or dark yellow needles to the broad bean-sized inverted conical keratin plugs, which cause local pain when walking
Corneal cause
- People who stand and walk for a long time are more likely to occur, and friction and compression are the main causes. Tight shoes or deformed foot bones can thicken the stratum corneum in areas where the foot is subjected to friction or compression, and push inward to become a conical horn with a top inward.
Corns clinical manifestations
- The skin lesions are round or oval-shaped localized keratinocytes. The needles are the size of broad beans, pale yellow or dark yellow, the surface is smooth and the skin is flat or slightly bulged. The tip of the horny plug stimulates the nerve endings of the dermal papilla and causes pain when standing or walking. Corns often occur at the 3rd metatarsal head of the anterior midfoot, the lateral edge of the metatarsophalangeal tibia, and are also found in prominent and friction-prone areas such as the small toe and the second toe or between the toes.
Corns differential diagnosis
- It is not difficult to diagnose the disease based on the characteristics of the damage and the location of the disease. It should be identified as follows.
- Plantar wart
- It is not limited to the site of pressure on the soles of the feet. The surface is papillary keratinous hyperplasia. The skin texture is often interrupted by black bleeding points, and the squeeze pain is obvious.
- 2.
- Seen at the crotch, the deformed keratinized patches or strips, the surface is smooth, the edges are unclear, walking or rubbing does not cause pain.
- 3. Palmoplantar keratosis
- The multiple isolated and conical cuticles of the palmar plantar area are not wedged into the skin and are not limited to the rubbed area.
Corns treatment
- External caustic
- Chicken eye ointment or chicken eye ointment can be applied topically. 10% salicylic acid, glacial acetic acid, 30% salicylic acid collodion, and crystal cream can also be used. The external corrosive must protect the surrounding skin. A small hole can be cut in the center of the zinc oxide tape, the same size as the skin lesion. Paste it on the skin damage and expose the skin lesion. The dressing is then covered with a large piece of tape, and the dressing is changed once every 3 to 7 days until it falls off.
- 2. Physical therapy
- Electrocautery, carbon dioxide laser burning, X-ray exposure.
- 3. Surgical resection.
Corns prevention
- To prevent corns, reduce friction and squeezing. Shoes and boots should fit softly, and the shoes can be lined with thick and soft insoles or sponge pads, and cut holes at the eye-equivalent position (hole insoles). Toe deformities should be corrected, and if there is an exogenous bone wart on the foot, it should be treated surgically.
