What Is a Colorectal Adenoma?

Colorectal adenomas are benign tumors originating from the epithelium of the colorectal mucosa, including colon adenomas and rectal adenomas. They are common benign tumors of the intestine. Because it is closely related to the occurrence of colorectal cancer, it is considered to be a precancerous lesion. The incidence rates vary greatly in different regions and at different ages. The incidence rates are lower for those under the age of 40 and higher for those over the age of 60. There is no significant difference between men and women.
