What is pseudohermaphroditism?
pseudohermaphroditism is a condition in which a child is born with one chromosomal and gonadal sex, but has or develops some of the secondary sexual characteristics of the other sex. It can be distinguished from the "true" Hermaphroditism by the presence of only one sex, either the ovaries or the testicles, while in true hermaphrodites the ovarian and testicular tissue are present. Two types of hermaphroditism and other disorders of ambiguous genitals are now referred to by the umbrella term intersex . This acknowledges that these conditions are more complex than just born with "wrong" genitalia and that there is a wide variability in the physical and psychological presentation of the state. There is a major debate on the management of intermediate infants and what treatment should be done.
It is particularly important to distinguish between gender and sex in discussion about intersexuality. Gender is biologically determined in the chromosomes of the agenotype of the individual. Gender is much socially and more psychologically determined and genderSome may not match the sex of a person. People who are Interex can think of themselves as men, as female, or as one or something in between.
There are two varieties of pseudohermaphroditism: female pseudohermaphroditism, now known as XX Intersex and male pseudohermaphroditism or XY INTERSEX. People with Interex XX have chromosomes and ovaries of women, but external genitalia that seem to be all, such as enlarged clitoris and fisted pubic published intercourse that resemble scrotum. People with Interex XY have chromosomes and testicles of males, but the external genitals that seem female, such as a small penis that resembles a clitoris, internal testicles and a lack of SCROTAL SAC.
People with pseudohermaphroditism can be very different in physical appearance. Some may achieve puberty looking like one sex but then create secondary sexual qualities for the opposite sex like PRSA or the hair of the face. Others may have external genitals that are not clearly male or women. Some individuals can only discover their intersexuality if they are unable to imagine their own children.
pseudohermaphroditism may have different causes and the cause of a particular person may never be determined. Excessive exposure of hormones of opposite chromosomal sex, while in the uterus it can cause abnormally developing genitalia. Some people are insensitive to hormones of their chromosomal sex, so they can only include hormones of the opposite sex. Random mutations or damaged or abnormal chromosomes can also cause intersex.
Many individuals born with ambiguous genitals underwent surgery assignment of sex as infants or children. In the past and some doctors, the surgery of gender assignment has been recommended very soon after birth for intersex people. View of the surgical formation of female genitalia is considered to be JEdnod, most of the mezisex infants would be administered by the female genitals by surgery if the genitals did not look clear and functionally male. This caused many problems for people who have been assigned to the sex they thought was wrong. In addition to psychological problems, genital surgery can also have serious consequences, such as the inability to experience sexual pleasure.
Interex children who have not been produced by surgery can also fight gender identity and can experience serious social problems such as bullying and exclusion. In their surgical recommendations for infants born in the meantime, healthcare professionals differ in their surgical recommendations, but advice and support are often recommended for families with intersexuality. Deciding whether to have a remedial operation or not and what gender should be raised as, is a very difficult decision and should be made by a family with the support of compassionate and capable professionals.
