What Is Sleep Debt?

Sleep debt refers to lack of sleep caused by actively restricting sleep time. The term "sleep debt" was proposed by William Dimon, MD, the founder of the Stanford University Sleep Medical Center. Being in a state of sleep debt for a long time will not only affect mood, work performance, but also reduce memory, alertness, attention and judgment, and accelerate aging to cause obesity, and even cause other serious diseases.
