What is a sufi meditation?
Sufi meditation is a mystical practice followed by some Sunni Muslims. Its aim is to come from the boundaries of the illusory physical world and become one with Allah or God. For this purpose, practicing, known as Dervish, first seeks unity with a mentor, then with the Prophet Muhammad and finally with Allah. In the Western world, Dervishes and the practice of Súfism are most often associated with the "whirlpool of dervishes" Turkey, but the sufi meditation includes a separate aspect of suffering.
Understanding several spiritual components of sufism is the key to understanding the practice of sufi meditation. All Muslims believe in adherence to the five pillars of Islam to achieve paradise after death, but Sufis believes that in this life there is a closeness to Allah in this life through other practices. The final goal of the sufi's faith is to experience unity with Allah by giving up the things that bind into the physical world and encourage the constant remob of Allah. Meditation helps the believer in this goal.
According to the sufi's faith, the world, as is perceived by human physical senses, illusions. Only meditation can allow one to experience a real reality that is perceived through the second set of senses. In some of the suffering traditions, meditation is to allow the other to wander freely and experience monuments, sounds, tastes, etc. Through this or other related practices, the dervisha experiences what is known as the "noble connection" with invisible real estate Allah.
Meditationusually begins under the leadership of Shayk, also known as Sheikh or Mentor. It is assumed that the Shaykhs received authority from the uninterrupted sequence of other Shaykhs who lead back to Muhammad. In the early stages of meditation, Dervish may be asked to focus on the picture, either in Hinebo her mind or with the physical eyes of Shaykh and clean his mind on all other things. Meditation can take place in complete darkness to minimize sensory input.
Eventually, Shaykh completely enters the Dervish heart and Shaykh and Dervish are united constantly, although the practitioner is not in a state of active meditation. Dervish is then ready to try to take another phase of meditation in which Shaykh leads Dervisš to complete the unity with Muhammad. If this is achieved, Dervish continues to complete unity with Allah. People who reach unity with Allah say that the phase behind it cannot be expressed in words, but they must rather be experienced. These people are then eligible to become Shaykhs and lead others in meditation.
As well as other types of meditation, such as yoga, practicing SFI meditation can have physical and emotional benefits and spiritual. Nettitness and controlled meditation breathing can reduce the physiological effects of stress. It can also lead to mental clarity and well -being.
