What is the rhythm method?

The

rhythmic method was one of the first attempts to check contraception through fertility planning. It is based on the concept that a woman cannot become pregnant in a non -lying day in her cycle and allows women to either prevent or achieve pregnancy. The rhythmic method is a form of contraception from at least 388 NL, where it was mentioned by St. Augustine in a letter. The first is that the length of the female cycle is usually 28 days, gives or lasts a few days and that a woman ovulates about 14 days before the start of the time. The second idea is that sperm can take three days in the female body. The third idea is that eggs must be fertilized within 24 hours of release.

With these three ideas, a calendar was developed, starting on the first day of the female period, on the day when its cycle begins. The woman has been considered fertile since her period ends up to four or five days after she ovulates, usually the Around Day 19. From the 20th day until the time launches the period, it is infertile and cannot conceive.

The

rhythmic cycle has several advantages. Usage is simple and does not require a woman to remember to enjoy a pill every day or use a different chemically based method of contraception. It is free and has no side effects. It can be a useful tool that helps several plan for conception by allowing them to plan contact for the time when a woman is the most fertile.

Unfortunately, the rhythm method is not an effective form of contraception. It is estimated that anywhere from 10% to 25% of pairs using this method to avoid pregnancy, it will become pregnant within one year. It does not take into account the fluctuation in the woman's cycle, or that not all women ovulate the 14th day of the fertility cycle and not all fertility cycles are approximately 28 days. The rhythmic method also does not provide any protection against sexually transmitted diseases.

There are other methods of awareness of contraception awareness that are much more accurate than the rhythm method. Basal body temperature mapping, temperatureWomen, first wakes up in the morning, monitor changes in her cervical mucus and check the location of her cervix daily, can give a much clearer idea of when the woman is fertile. There are also specialized portable microscopes available on some pharmacies and online markets that allow the woman to check her saliva to see, which is a pattern in dried saliva. It is a sign that ovulation is only a day or two, allowing a woman to plan her most fertile period.
