What is 3D photogrammetry?

PHOTOGRAMETRY is the use of a two -dimensional (2D) image or images such as a photo to allow one to analyze an image to perform accurately measure the size and orientation of the objects in the image in terms of the original three -dimensional (3D) space. The process allows a person to measure the height, width and depth of objects in a photo or a similar 2D image, which can then be used to re -create objects that change in 3D space. For 3D photogrammetry, the application is used to take pictures of objects such as photos, and re -create the original object as a 3D computer model, usually for use in computer animation or similar applications.

This technique is almost as old as the photograph itself and was used with some of the earliest Daguerreotype with pictures.
