What is ITIL®?
Itil® is an abbreviation for the information technology infrastructure library and is a number of books and courses that outlines the methods of proven information technology management (IT) methods. ITIL® use thousands of organizations around the world. Methods can assist IT service providers, IT directors and main information officials to improve the quality of IT department services. It provides a map, also called life cycle of services, how it works, as it comes to larger trade and how it can be potentially improved. ITIL® is a registered trademark of the Office of Government Trade (OGC) in the UK and other countries. These five aspects cover the IT department functions from conception to maintenance. The ITIL® process is to improve IT services to businesses, so the program focuses on creating an integrated relationship between companies and IT services. ITIL® materials offer IT managers detailed and comprehensive descriptions, control lists and procedures that can be adapted to meet the needs of specificIT organization.
Itil® was originally published over 31 volumes between 1989 and 1995 in the UK. It was entrusted with the Central and Telecommunications Agency of the United Kingdom (CTA), which has been replaced by OGC, the Office of the Treasury of its Majesty since then. In its first edition, the use of the program was limited mainly to the UK and the Netherlands, but has since achieved worldwide popularity due to its independence from commercial interests.
Thesystem was later revised and condensed into a more user -friendly series of seven books published between 2000 and 2004. The newly revised version 3 was published in 2007 as a series of five books concerning its main aspects, accompanied by print and web publications on additional topics. Since 2007, OCG has closed with the APM Group on ITIL® certification and teaching.

Managers who take courses can achieve several levels of certification depending on how much of the ITIL® course is included. The levels range from the initial course, which indicates the basics of the program, to the courses focused on one of the key concepts of the life cycle, to the course of experts, which covers five basic books and some additional materials.
