Web conferences, which were presented as an accompanying service for sound conference calls, came for the first time on the mass market in the 90's. However, many people protested against this approach because proprietary information has now been placed on a number of hard drives. The conference leader had to rely on the assets of the participants to remove sensitive files from the hard drive after the meeting. For participants, this newer form of web conferences has removed storage in the cache of any files on their hard drives. Everything required for them was the URL on the login page and passcode. Because the presentation was converted to HTML basic images, participants NEPOThey did nothing but media player to see the presentations. Soon there was no download logging.
