What is the production of 5s?

5S Production is a slim production practice focused on order and improving the safety of the workplace and increasing productivity. It is a household discipline that Japanese companies conceptualized to achieve the excellence of production and improving the quality of the product. This practice may result in the removal of waste and defective products, thereby reducing production costs. The 5S is practiced globally in both production and non -common organizations. Five steps were translated into English verbs and phrases also from the letter "S." The sequence of steps in 5s is seiri , seiton , seiso , seiketsu and shitsuke .

seiri for sorting. The materials necessary in the manufacturing process are separated from unnecessary materials that are then displayed. The red mark is used to indicate the material for easy identification. Material segregation is usually performed on a segment or part of the production floor for greater sorting efficiency.

Seiton is drMoof step in production 5s. It means introducing things in place. The tools and materials are neatly arranged and after the production sequence are listed in their correct placement. Production organizations commonly use shadow plates where the shape of each tool is painted on the board to lead workers when returning the tools to their correct places. The tools are also located at the point in the production line where they will be used.

Seiso or Shine comes another in the 5S production discipline. Workers must always leave clean jobs. It is assumed that the clean working environment stimulates the productivity of workers.

Thečtrdý step in the production of 5s is seiketsu . This means standardizing the practice of 5S production to make the implementation uniform and routine. A common practice for standardizing 5S implementation is to have a checklist. Activities for sorting, setting things in place and shine are listed in the first columnThe checklist and the person responsible for each activity is given in the second column. The third column reflects the frequency of activity, while the fourth column indicates the completion of the check with the tick mark.

The last step in the production of 5s is shitsuke , which means keeping. While Seiketsu facilitates the implementation of shitsuke , it must also be made efforts to promote the 5S discipline in the production of everyone in the plant to practice it. Some manufacturers organize a competition between different sections in the plant; The 5S best implementation section is awarded tokens and plaque recognition.

5S implementation audit is also a good tool for maintaining discipline. Members of the audit team should come from different parts of the production plant and should be changed from time to time to avoid bias. The results of the audit should not be used to sanction those who are unable to follow the 5S instructions. Instead, it should be used as a basis for formulation of programscan support voluntary participation. It is assumed that the worker makes the habit easier when he decides so voluntarily.
