What is a rubberized asphalt?

Pogified asphalt is a mixture of asphalt concrete and finely ground tire material, which is used as a material of the road surface treatment. It has been shown to be an excellent product for regular asphalt in several areas, including its overall wear characteristics, reflection resistance and noise reduction in operation. It also offers an attractive alternative to scrap tires in landfills. The rubberized asphalt production process involves grinding the scrap tires into a fine unit and removing all fabrics and steel fibers and mixing the clarified aggregate with the binder before adding to the conventional asphalt mixture. The resulting mixture is then applied in the same way as the common asphalt surface material.

This final mixture is then applied to the surface of the steps of standard recovery techniques.

The use of asphalt treated with rubber offers several different advantages over standard mixes. The road -emerging roads tend to age better than conventional surfaces due to their own flexibility of rubber and antioxidants found in tire materials. Rubberized asphalt surfaces also resist rome or creation of ridges better than untreated surfaces of asphalt. In addition, resistance to asphalt surface treated in rubber is better, causing safer driving conditions.

Roads re-frozen with rubberized asphalt are also less susceptible to reflective cracking, which is a phenomenon where new surfaces develop cracks that reflect those on the old surface. Asphalt surfaces treated with rubber also produce significantly less noise on the road, in some cases it returns to reduction of decibel with a diameter between four and five decibels. Perhaps one of the more significant advantages of the use of rubberized asphalt is the environmental position, with 500 and 2,000 tires scrap to each driving mile of the road surface.This means that fewer tires eventually create environmental problems in landfills, which further increases the value of the process.
