What Is a Lumbar-Peritoneal Shunt?
The ventricle-peritoneal shunt tube is used in various types of hydrocephalus patients. It refers to the puncture of the lateral ventricle occipital angle to divert excess cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricle to the peritoneal site in the abdominal cavity and is absorbed. A sterile device to help patients with hydrocephalus clear the recent excess fluid in the ventricle [1] .
