How can I measure the pulse frequency?
Man's pulse frequency, also known as heart rate, is simply the number of his heart beats in one minute. There are several ways to measure pulse frequency. The two simplest and most commonly used methods include the acceptance of a carotid pulse or the use of a radial pulse. Both methods require clock access or monitoring with seconds listed on it. You can measure the pulse frequency by placing the index and middle fingers to the right place to feel the pulse and calculate the number of rhythms in a certain number of seconds and then calculate rhythms per minute using simple mathematics.
The first method involves taking over the carotid pulse. This method uses artery in the throat. Begin by placing the index and the middle finger of one hand next to the larynx, otherwise known as the voice box or Adam's apple. Using the flat part of the bottom of the two fingers gently but firm until you feel a pulse. You may need to move your fingers to find. Place the flat part of the index and the centerThe fingers of one hand over the underside of the wrist below the base of the thumb. Gently but firmly until you feel a pulse. Again, you may have to move your fingers a little to find it.
After you found a pulse, you can start to measure the pulse frequency. Use a second hand on the clock or watch to calculate the rhythms for one minute or calculate them for 30 seconds and multiply by two. This will give you the number of beats per minute or pulse frequency. If you are pushed for a time, you can calculate the number of rhythms for 10 seconds and multiply six or 15 seconds and multiply four, but it will give you less accurate measurements.
resting heart rate is determined after at least 10 minutes of inactivity. Active heart rats can be tested at any time during exercise or increased activity. The normal range of resting pulse for people older than 10 years is 60-100 rhythms per minute. People who are in an excellent physical shapeU, such as trained athletes, often have a normal resting pulse frequency of 40-60 beats per minute.
