What are ergogenic aids?

Ergogenic aids are a general category of substances that increase performance, and this usually refers to athletic performance. This may apply to biological substances that increase endurance, or can refer to highly technical materials that are expected to increase speed, such as a specific type of material that would help swimmers faster. Ergogenic AIDS may also include psychological aids that may include relaxation techniques before event or images that allow better performance. This may also apply to a specific training method.

The most famous ergogenic aids are pharmacological substances. Many of these AIDS are forbidden by athletic events and athletes have to pass blood tests to ensure that these substances have not accepted. The most commonly abused ergogenic aids are anabolic steroids, which are essentially male hormones. These steroids create muscles and significantly increase muscle strength.

Another pharmacological ergogenic aids include Human RůsDown hormone. This hormone is naturally produced in the body and tends to narrow as a person ages, and his loss has been associated with muscle atrophy, which naturally occurs throughout the life of man. At a very high level, this hormone can increase muscle size and strength.

Blood doping is another prohibited practice that is considered ergogenic help. This applies to procedures that increase the number of red blood cells and therefore increase the perseverance of the athlete. Blood doping may include a real injection of red blood cells, or may include erythropoetin use (EPO), a molecule that increases red blood cell production. Another way to increase the number of red blood cells is to train at high altitudes, which is an acceptable practice.

Psychological ergogenic aids may include relaxing procedures or motivational training. Images are another technique in which athlete mentally visualizes,How would he want to play on his events ideally. Breathing practices or meditation can also be considered ergogenic aids.

Stimulants can also be considered ergogenic aids. This may include legal stimulants such as caffeine or hazardous substances such as the Chinese herb Ephedra. Ephedra is a herb that is used in traditional Chinese medicine in small doses, but is often used in dangerously high doses in illegal stimulation substances.

6 Anabolic steroids are well known for their negative effects, including the increased risk of tumors, high blood pressure, low sperm and psychosis. The hormone of human growth also has a high level, including the development of insulin resistance and heart disease. High doses of stimulating ephedry were associated with several deaths due to a heart attack or stroke. Blood doping, either by injection of EPO or red blood cells, is very dangerous because the accumulation of red blood cells can thicken blood and lead to heart failure.
