What is a topped knife?

A tree knife is a kitchen tool designed to help apply the icing to the cake or spread any easy -to -trade substance over food. The icing designer is usually symmetrical, as well as the rest of the knife, so it can be easily manipulated from any angle. The blade itself is often straight on each of the longer sides and curved at the top, so there are no hard edges in the profile. The sides of the blade are not sharp and the metal is made to be firm, but also for moderate giving, so it destroys fine cakes when used. One variation of the standard top -up knife has a shift of the blade below the handle level and creates a space where the fingers can grab the knife without dropping under the toppings when used. Wood, plastic and even metal are common for the handle. Steel, aluminum or plastic can be used to produce the blade. Most knives are designed so that the lightweight does not interfere with the icing application to the cake. Several knives are serrated on one side to cut off the cake and scratch the patterns into the icing.

Fock Knife is most effective when used after a cake knife. The cake knife in some respects is similar to the icing knife, except that it has a longer, thinner blade and an serrated edge designed to cut by cake. Many cakes come from an oven with uneven surfaces, so the cake knife can be used to cut a clean and straight surface at the top and sides of the cake. With a flat surface on the cake, the icing knife can easily expand the icing of the room temperature over the surface and provide a flat, professional -looking layer.

There are other uses for a topping knife in addition to decorating cakes. It can be used to cut and spread ice cream. When spicy food is produced, the knife can be used to spread the buttocks above a large surface, such as a loaf of bread. The knife can also be used to spread tomato sauce on lasagna or pesto on bread. The design allows you to use a knife to spread almost any filling or sauce on a flat surface.
