What is the horned melon?

If you are in a grocery store in a part of a grocery store and accidentally look at barbed orange fruit fruit, it may be difficult to avert your view. This is melon Kiwano or Horn, which was first grown in Africa and is now starting to appear in food stores in the US. You probably either love or hate this fruit if you are brave enough to try it. It can't be peeled, so you have to have at least half the horned melon to look inside. When you opened this melon, you are a big surprise. Instead of having a color similar to the exterior, the inner meat is deep, almost daily green. The fruit is dotted with seeds, which may be somewhat difficult to remove. Many people don't mind, but I don't like Texture. It is somewhat gelatin or jelly similar to fans, but those who do not care about the horned melon can call it coarse and slimy instead. How much do you really like it depends on your texture tolerance. The taste is relatively mild and Notzenivo.

One way to eat it, which seems to work well, is half the melon and then cut it into slices of "orange wedges". You can use a spoon to select each wedge content. Some call the taste of cucumbers very refreshing and designed cocktails made of a mixture of horned melon and other ingredients. The liquefaction of the fruit would help reduce the negatives of its texture, especially when mixed with other ingredients. Seed selection is quoted as the biggest challenge because they are so numerous. Some just eat seeds with fruit.

One interesting application of the corner melon uses hard bark as a bowl of meat. You could fill them with fruit salad, kiwano and lime pudding or horned melon sorbet. Some people like the appearance of fruit and use them only for decorative purposes. They resemble a prehistoric animal without a foot and their bright orangeThe bark is attractive. They can maintain for a long time without cooling and can be used in decorations as well as used, such as gourds, even if they do not last as long as gourd.
